So Lorri & I have made yet another leap forward in our transition to the full time RV life. Our house of 13 1/2 years was put on the market in a “Coming Soon” status on November 23rd, 2021. Within 12 hours we had 3 offers come in. As this was during Thanksgiving week, we had a pause on the 25th and received more offers the day before and the day after Thanksgiving. Our awesome realtor contacted us the day after Thanksgiving and let us know of another offer that was up our alley. Lorri & I chose to go with it and on the next day, we’d accepted the offer officially. We then rushed to finish the repairs and upgrades to the house that we’d already started and continued to pack in preparation for our closing date. We picked up the U-Haul truck on December 13th and started to load it. We finished up an hour and a half before our closing appointment. We both shed a few tears as we walked out our door for the last time, but were excited for the adventure we were on. On December 14th, 2021 at 3:30pm ET, we’d completed our part of the paperwork and were officially homeless (but also no longer had a mortgage!).

We then drove to Lorri’s sister’s place in Hortense, GA where we have a storage building and arrived around 11pm ET completely exhausted. We got up the next morning and with the help of our nieces and Lorri’s sister, we unloaded most of the stuff into the storage building. We wound up having to rent a storage unit for the remaining stuff until we can pick up our RV. We’ll then move all of the RV stuff into the RV, and put the stuff in the storage unit into the storage building. After all of the lifting, moving, closing, driving, etc. Lorri & I are completely exhausted.

As of right now, we’re scheduled to take delivery of our RV – our new home, on December 21st, 2021 barring any other freak accidents. More to come…
